Databases - FAQ
In what way are databases presented?
The databases are divided into large categories. Beneath each category, a link is presented to both freely accessible databases and to purchased databases (yellow ochre on colored background).
Each product has a help file.
What databases are there?
Last year, several services of our FPS had database licenses either for stand-alone versions or for a restricted number of simultaneous users. The same license was bought by various services. These licenses were brought together within VDIC and the license terms were adapted.
Is there a database in my field?
A number of new licenses were purchased so as to give each target group access to at least one database within their core business. If you would like to include other databases in this list (either free of charge or against payment), please submit your request to email@example.com to have it examined.
What are named user databases?
Some databases require an individual login for each user instead of access though IP recognition. Consequently, there are not many named users. Interested users may submit their request through the VDIC site and will receive an individual login (user name and password) for each of these databases.
No e-access to a database?
It is possible that your access is temporarily denied because all the purchased licenses are in use at that moment. In that case, try again later.
If access problems persist, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please log off after every session.
Have any training sessions been provided for?
PYes. They will be announced on the Vesalius portal or on the home page. Specific training courses may be provided on demand. Please send your requests to email@example.com .
